## About the Job Boarding Manager needed for a small facility in Central Texas. This is a live in, part-time position. ## Responsibilities The qualified candidate will have demonstrable knowledge and experience in caretaking horses including feeding, turn out, illness/injury detection and treatment, as well as professional level client relation skills. This candidate will also possess basic abilities in property caretaking in order to keep a well tended property in top operating order, including minor outdoor plumbing, pasture mowing, weed-eating, fencing repairs, stall cleaning, and any other jobs necessary to maintain the safety and cleanliness of the facility. This position requires approximately 15 hours per week on average. The remainder of time is free for personal time, remote work, or any other activities so long as the needs of the horses are attended to. Long term arrangement is most preferred, but will consider temporary assignments for the right candidates. ## Requirements In addition to the above, this person must be physically capable of handling 50 lb. feed bags and 70 lb. hay bales, and be able to work in all weather conditions--particularly summer heat. Applicant must be willing and able to assume solo responsibility of the facility for extended periods of time and have the flexibility to adapt to any needs of the herd in the event of injury, illness, or weather conditions. ## Pay and Benefits This position is best suited for someone wishing to work part time and spend their days surrounded by horses in a nice country setting. Living quarters and all utilities included. Pay will be determined based on a variety of factors that will be discussed during an interview.
