Horse Farm seeking FT Help

## About the Job Privately owned/operated horse farm. Average 15-22 horses on the property, 100 acres. This is a labor position. We are not a show or lesson barn. We do board horses for others. Location is Slayden MS 38642, NW Mississippi = 40 min east of Memphis, TN. There is opportunity to ride if qualified, but not required. All applicants MUST have previous horse care experience. MUST currently be in the USA and be legal/documented for work in the USA. We cannot sponsor nor assist with visa application process. Please do not apply if you are not in the USA currently and do not have legal status to work. ## Responsibilities Full care of horses and barn/property upkeep. No heavy equipment to operate-but does include fence line trimming/spraying during growing season. All chores relating to operating a horse care facility-Including, but not limited to: Stall cleaning (average # of stalls to clean is 6-8), feed/water, blanketing, turn in/out, assist w/property maintenance and repairs and/or assist others when needed, debris clean up as events may occur, inventory management of feed/hay etc. Assist w/farriers or vets as needed. Occasional prepping trailers for travel to/from shows (stocking/washing). Assist owners w/other random chores as needed. Ability to work alone or assist w/others & follow instruction. Understand that work hours can vary, not an 8-5 position, its a farm and there are horses. Willing to do an evening barn check if needed during winter hours. Strong work ethic - meaning must be reliable and be present to preform the job consistently regardless of weather or what the day of the week it is. Must have recent experience working around & caring for horses. Knowledge/experience to recognize illness/injury & ability to assist w/basic wound care if needed. Experience w/being around/handling a stallion. Ability to properly clean & bed a stall. Maintain neat and tidy barn and surrounding property. Recognize the importance of fresh clean water always-in stalls and outdoor tanks. Understanding that the daily activities can change quickly (the feeding schedule is the only thing that does not vary). This is not a training position nor a lesson barn. No dogs UNLESS they will 1000% not even consider showing any interest at all in barn cats. These cats do a job for us & the barn is their office/home. ## Pay and Benefits Salary paid (boe) PLUS Furnished Housing w/utilities incl. (suitable for 1-2 adults= valued added $12,500K annual), Paid iPhone ($1k annual), Board for 1 horse (value added $6k annual).
